Here we are at the third week of Advent also known as Gaudete Sunday. It is the week where the pink candle is lit called the Shepard's Candle. This third week is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy we the faithful have with the anticipation of our wait being over and the celebration so close at hand. The verse that so well goes with this week is Philippians 4:4-5: Rejoice is the Lord always. I say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. I know there is still much to do out there in the world, in our families and our personal lives before Christmas Day is here. But I hope you can get a moment or two just to rejoice and think about celebrating and renewing your relationaship with Christ. Maybe even reflecting on your personal journey in finding Jesus just as the shepards and wisemen did over 2,000 years ago. On Sunday from 6:00pm-7:30pm, St. Rose is giving an opportunity to slow down and reflect about Christ's coming with Chris Padgett's "The Gift". Chris has a wonderful way of using comedy and lightheartedness to get to the heart of things. I hope you and your family are able to join us.
Next Sunday is Christmas Eve so I will not be Posting a Blog till after the holidays. I am including two things I hope you and your family are able to enjoy during the holidays. One is Superbook's The First Christmas. The other is the pilot episode of The Chosen Series entitled The Shepherd , it is the nativity story told through the eyes of a shepherd. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and find some of God's Blessings within it.
