Begin Again

It was a very nice First Reconciliation last Monday. It was very easy to see ---even through the nerves, that children were ready both intellectually and emotionally. That was due to you as parents taking the time to extend at home what we have taught. By doing that you give the sacrament the emotional connection your child needs as only a parents can. Thank you so much for your support and partnering with us to make sure your child is prepared. We will begin preparation for First Communion this Saturday, March 9th from 9:00-10:30am. The rest of the dates are as follows: 3/16, 3/23. and 4/6 all from 9:00-10:30 am. We usually have the parents attend some or most of the last class to practice in the church for First Communion (April 12th at 6pm). I will be discussing with Father Chris the details for that last Sacramental Prep time and will give you better information regarding that last class.

It is now when preparing for the Sacrament of Holy Communion, where knowing the Mass is key and having physically been there now many times will help in understanding it. It is our goal that this is not a one-day event but the beginning of a meaningful lifetime walk/relationship with Jesus by using the sacraments and attending mass. Something I'm sure you feel strongly about as well, or you would not be taking this time and effort with your child to receive these sacraments. I have attached a SUPERBOOK Episode on the Last Supper (about 20 min) for your child to view BEFORE class this week. I have also included an 8min video by Father Mike for you to view on the Eucharist because it's very easy for us in our busy lives to get into a routine and forget what the Eucharist really is. I hope you have a great week and find some of God's Blessings along the way.
