Eat of Any Tree But, This One...

We had a great first session. Everyone thought it went smoothly. Many positive comments on how well students knew their basic prayers and could talk about what happens at church. Thank you for supporting your child and helping in their preparation for the First Sacraments. This is on the church website, but I wanted to just remind you of the remaining dates: 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, Reconciliation for those eligible will be Monday 2/26 from 6-8pm. Then the next set of classes for First Communion, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 4/6, First Communion Mass will be Friday 4/12 at 6pm. If there is a weather event where will have to cancel you will receive a robo text from the church letting you know as soon as we can. If there is an illness or emergency, please let me know as soon as possible.

In our last class we discussed sin especially Original Sin and its origins. In doing that we discussed the Bible Story of creation based on Genesis 3:1-24. We talked about how we each have Free Will and a conscience to help guide us. And that ultimately Sin is a choice not an accident or mistake---accidents or mistakes are not sins. In our next class we will cover the rules that guide everyone's life---The Ten Commandments. (If your child has not had an opportunity to view the Super book video on the Ten Commandments yet, please try and have it watched before Saturday's class.) We will also discuss how to examine your conscience. I wanted to give you an opportunity to look at the First Episode of Catholic Parent if you haven't already. Also, if you do not have FORMED go back to the Oct.16 Blog where it explains how to download it. FORMED is available on not only your phones, computers and iPads but also ROKU, Fire Stick and Apple TV. It will only allow me here to show the trailer, but I will again forward the email to you with the preview of the First Episode. I have watched it and think it's worth the time very real and encouraging. Have a great week and I hope you are able to find some of God's Blessings along the way.
