Who knows You Better Than Mom

Last week I had promised a "code" to get into the Catholic Faith on Demand Channel FORMED. But I was mistaken there is another easier way. You go on to the strosecny.org for our church go to the top menu bar and click on Our Faith. Under Our Faith you will find Catholic Resources. Click on that and FORMED will come up. It will show you how to get to the site. When on the site you simply give the parish zip code or name. And that's it. When you are on there you will see there is so much stuff ---really good stuff for the whole family to use. It's a wonderful resource that I am still getting to know better. Like anything else the more, you use it the more familiar you become with it. So, my goal has been to try and explore a little bit each week. What's great about FORMED is that it can be watched on iPhone, Apple TV, Android, Android TV, Fire TV or Roku.

This all leads us to our discussion of Mary this week. October is special for Mary because it focuses on Our Lady of the Rosary. And I was going to talk about the rosary this week which is very near and dear to my heart. But I felt I was putting the cart before the horse a little bit. If you ask your child who is Mary, they will probably say the mother of Jesus. And they are right but there is so much more to her and her role in humanity. Her "yes" changed the world and the destiny of humanity forever. So, I wanted the children to connect with Mary a little bit more before delving into the rosary. I found a great video (short 20 min) on The Story of Mary from the kids' series Brother Francis that appears on FORMED. (That is why I went through the housekeeping of telling you how to get on it.) I found a trailer on YouTube which I put here. but the full viewing has to be done on FORMED. The other thing I attached is a little bio on Blessed Carlos Acutis that Father Chris spoke on today in his Homily. He is one of the youngest saints but also one of the few of the 21st Century who used the computer to spread devotion to the Eucharist and document Eucharistic Miracles.

If you are further interested in some of Blessed Carlos's work. There is going to be a showing of the Eucharistic Miracle Panels that were created from Blessed Carlo Acutis Website after his death at the age of 15. The Liverpool Catholic Community of St. Joseph the Worker, Pope John XXIII, and Christ the King Churches are hosting a parish pilgrimage to view them from October 14-29. Check out their website or parish offices for the schedule. I hope you have a great week and find some of God's Blessings along the way.
